FlexiScan is a small residential security company. We design, install and maintain bespoke alarm, CCTV and cyber protection for private households, and we limit the number of clients we accept so that each receives the attention the work requires.

Scale would come at the client’s expense.
Most security firms grow by standardising: three packages, a published price list, and engineers who first see a property on the morning of the installation. That is a reasonable way to run a large business. It is a poor way to protect an individual home.
We work to the opposite model. We accept a limited number of clients, we survey every property ourselves, and we prepare a specification for that property alone. This places a firm ceiling on the volume of work we can undertake in a year, and we regard that ceiling as a feature rather than a constraint.
There is a second benefit, and it matters more than it may appear. A short client list is also a short list of properties whose security arrangements we hold in detail. Fewer clients means fewer records, fewer people with access to them, and less to protect.
What this means in practical terms
- A survey at no charge, carried out by the person who will design the system
- A written specification you could take to any other installer
- Costed options, with our recommendation clearly identified
- Anything we would advise against, and the reasons why
- The same personnel from initial survey through to long-term servicing
- No client names, addresses or photographs published at any time
Why these three together
A modern home is defended at the door and at the router.
The two are connected whether or not anybody planned it that way, and a supplier who addresses only one of them has left the other open.
Security devices are computers
Every camera, video doorbell and alarm communicator in a modern home runs software and holds credentials. Installed onto a single flat network, an inexpensive camera becomes a route in. Ours are placed on a segregated network as a matter of course.
An email address is a credential
Once an address has been supplied to several hundred websites, one of them will eventually be breached, and from that point it feeds the phishing and credential-stuffing attempts directed at every other account you hold.
One supplier, one responsibility
Where the alarm company and the IT provider are separate firms, each is correct that the other's work falls outside its remit. The gap between them is where a considerable number of household incidents begin.
