FlexiScan Security

This document concerns the website. If you are looking for the terms on which we supply surveys, equipment, installation or maintenance, see our Terms and Conditions.

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using this website you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site.

We may amend these terms at any time by updating this page. The version in force is the one published here when you use the site.

2. Who we are

This website is operated by FlexiScan Security (“FlexiScan”, “we”, “us”), a small residential security company operating in the United Kingdom. Our services and operations are governed by, and comply with, the laws of England and Wales.

We do not publish our registered company details, trading address, telephone numbers or the names of our staff on this website. This is a deliberate measure to protect our clients and our team, not an oversight. All information required by law appears on our written proposals, contracts, invoices and formal correspondence, and our company registration, VAT and data protection registration details are provided on request.

3. The information on this site

The content of this website is provided for general information about our services. It does not constitute security advice in relation to any particular property. Meaningful advice requires a survey. Nothing on this site should be relied upon as a substitute for a professional assessment of your own circumstances, and no statement here creates any obligation on us to supply goods or services.

Descriptions of services, of what a typical installation includes, and of timescales are indicative. They do not form part of any contract and are superseded entirely by your individual written proposal.

We take reasonable care to keep this site accurate and current, but we give no warranty that it is complete, accurate or up to date, or that the site will be available uninterrupted or free from error. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it without notice.

4. Permitted use

You may view, download and print extracts from this site for your own personal or internal business use in connection with evaluating or using our services.

You may not:

  • use the site in any way that is unlawful or fraudulent, or for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose;
  • reproduce, republish, distribute, sell or otherwise commercially exploit any part of it without our written permission;
  • remove or alter any copyright, trade mark or other proprietary notice;
  • introduce viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to this site, the server on which it is stored, or any server, computer or database connected to it;
  • attack this site by means of a denial-of-service or distributed denial-of-service attack;
  • use any automated system to scrape, harvest or systematically extract content or contact details.

We would take a serious view of any such attempt and would report it to the relevant law enforcement authorities. See section 8 for the authorised route to report a security concern; we would far rather hear from you than not.

5. The enquiry form

The enquiry form on this site does not transmit anything to this website or to any third-party form service. It hands a pre-filled message to your own email application, which you may edit or discard before sending. Nothing leaves your device unless you choose to send it.

The form has a single field and asks that you do not include personal data or details of your security arrangements. Please respect that: information you send us by ordinary email travels across systems neither of us controls.

You must not use the form to send unsolicited marketing, recruitment approaches, or automated submissions of any kind.

Where this website links to an external site, we do so for information only. We have no control over the content of external sites and accept no responsibility for them, for any loss arising from their use, or for their privacy practices.

You may link to our home page provided you do so fairly and lawfully, in a way that does not damage our reputation or suggest an association, approval or endorsement that does not exist. You may not frame this site within another site, and we may withdraw linking permission at any time.

7. Availability

This site is provided free of charge and we give no guarantee that it will always be available or uninterrupted. Access is permitted on a temporary basis and we may suspend, withdraw or restrict all or any part of it without notice. We are not liable to you if the site is unavailable at any time or for any period.

You are responsible for making all arrangements necessary to access the site, and for ensuring that everyone who accesses it through your connection is aware of these terms.

8. Reporting a security problem

If you believe you have found a security vulnerability in this website, please tell us through the contact form and we will agree an encrypted channel with you before you send any detail.

Our undertaking. We will acknowledge your report within three working days, keep you informed of our assessment and remediation, credit you publicly if you would like us to, and take no action against you provided you have acted in good faith.

What we ask. Allow us reasonable time to investigate and remediate before disclosing publicly. Do not access, modify or delete data belonging to anyone else, and stop as soon as you have established that a vulnerability exists. Do not degrade the service for others, and do not attempt social engineering against our team or our clients.

We do not operate a paid bug bounty.

9. Our liability to you

Nothing in these Terms of Use excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury arising from our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all conditions, warranties, representations and other terms that might otherwise be implied into your use of this website, and we are not liable for any loss or damage, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, arising out of or in connection with use of, inability to use, or reliance on the content of this site.

Our liability in connection with goods and services we supply to you is governed by our Terms and Conditions, not by this clause.

10. General

Severance. If any provision is found unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in force.

Waiver. A delay in enforcing any right is not a waiver of it.

Governing law. These Terms of Use, and any dispute arising out of them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your own jurisdiction.
